SEJARAH MASJID SG BATU

Masjid Sungai Batu, or the Sungai Batu Mosque, is a recently expanded village mosque serving the Malay village of Sungai Batu, on the south side of Penang Island. As it is within Teluk Kumbar, it is often also called Masjid Teluk Kumbar.

Masjid Sungai Batu is located at the junction between the Bayan Lepas Main Road and Jalan Sungai Batu, and is one of the main landmarks before the village of Teluk Kumbar.

Masjid Sungai Batu was first built in the middle of the 20th century, and was fully renovated recently. The new mosque building replaces the old mosque. It has a new dome and minaret.
